Egun on, Bonjour, Buenos dias,

Created by its president Nathalie, VERTES MONTAGNES & Cie welcome you in GÎTE ULTREÏA its house in the heart of the Basque Country, where inhabitants are bilingual or even trilingual, in a famous Compostella halt since the Middle Ages, at the gates of the Pyreneans and Spain and in one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Rich with its friendships from all walks of life and encounters, in 2015, Nathalie created her small seasonal company Vertes Montagnes & Cie to take over the Ultreïa hostel created by Bernard and Fafa in 2010. Breton from the forest of Brocéliande, Nathalie has always been a hiker with a passion for travel and the mountains. With economic studies in Rennes, Bilbao and Grenoble, she also has a degree in Spanish language and is a tourist guide of Brocéliande and of the Basque Country. Then Nathalie worked in commercial and financial management in ski resorts, in the industry, in tourism and in the community of municipalities.

After several treks in the Alps with the French Alpine Clubs (CAF) of Nantes, Grenoble and the UCPA an association of sports stays, she finally settled in the Pyrenees in 2005 where each mountain pass is a passage to the Galician capital of Santiago de Compostela…. She chose Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, surrounded by Green Mountains (Vertes Montagnes), and a popular destination for hikers on the Saint Jacques pilgrimage route and the GR10.

She has also been a volunteer mountain guide, account controller and general secretary of the French Alpine Club of Bayonne. She continues to practice mountain sports with her family.

In 2021, Nathalie entrusted the hostal to Argitxu under management lease. Argitxu continues to welcome you in the usual conviviality of the region.
